Bayanihan is part of the Filipino culture. This is a Filipino word derived from "bayan," which refers to nation or country, town, municipality or community. The term bayanihan mainly refers to the spirit of communal unity or effort to achieve a particular objective.
This has been done many times since even before the colonization of the spanish government. I think this should be preserved as I am haven't seen bayanihan nowadays.
